How do I pin or un-pin a topic?

These instructions are for the old themes. If you are using a new theme, please use these instructions instead.

Use this feature to pin topics to the top of a category. It's ideal for posting announcements or making sure important discussions stay at the top of the topics listing.

You can pin/un-pin a topic by following the directions below:

1. Login to your forum account. (Must be a moderator or administrator account.)
   
   
2. If your forum has multiple categories, click the link for the category the topics are in.
   
   
3. Check the checkbox next to each topic you would like to pin or un-pin.
   
   
4. Select "Pin" or "Un-Pin" in the dropdown box located towards the bottom of the page and click "Go". If there is no "Pin" or "Un-Pin" option or there are no checkboxes, that means the appropriate permissions are not set for the moderator account.
   
   

Note: You can also pin a topic when creating it. If you are logged into your moderator or administrator account when creating the new topic, you will see a "Pin this topic" option on the page.

For the mobile version, please follow the directions mentioned below:

1. Login to your forum account. (Must be a moderator or administrator account.)
2. Browse to the category where the topics that you want to pin are located.
3. Click on the Edit tab.
4. Select the check box next to each topic you would like to pin or un-pin.
5. Click on the More tab.
6. Select Pin or Un-Pin option.
   Note: If there is no Pin or Un-Pin option or there are no checkboxes, that means the appropriate permissions are not set for the moderator account.
